Couple invoiced $75.90 (£50.10) for not showing up to a wedding they said they were going to

Jessica Baker (from Minnesota, USA) and her husband had RSVP’d to a wedding, on the day of the wedding her Mother, who was going to look after the children for the day, suddenly couldn’t make it. The invite said no children and because of the short notice the couple couldn’t make the wedding.

Then this week (September 30th) the couple received an invoice through the door for $75.90 for 2 x Herb Crusted Walleye (type of fish) + included taxes + service charge.

“This cost reflects the amount paid by the bride and groom for meals that were RSVP’d for, reimbursement and explanation for no show, card, call or text would be appreciated,” the note read.

Jessica was a little shocked and did what all good people do and show the internet/her local news channel the proof.

It turns out that 10% of people supposedly don’t show up for weddings, with the average wedding in the UK costing £20,000 you can see why some brides & grooms would be annoyed.
