Roger Anderson, a telecom consultant in the US created an algorithm that pretends to be a real human, it automatically talks to phone scammers and telemarketers leading them to have long conversations with nobody!
It works surprisingly well, see the video below (it’s quite funny).
The beauty of the system:
- Often Telemarketers / Scammers are not allowed to hang up
- Often staff react brilliantly
- Nobody knows it’s a computer until right at the last moment
- It costs the companies that run the Telemarketers / Scammers money!
- It is funny to listen to

How do I stop cold callers / scammers?
- Be careful with who you give your data too, consider an alias email/phone number
- Learn about other phone scams so you can avoid them
- Register for the Telephone Preference Service (TPS)
