Avoiding Crap iPhone Cables

Avoiding Crap iPhone Cables

This is why you shouldn’t scrimp on cables/chargers for your phone & avoid Primark electronics!
+ a few useful bits of info / recommend products for iPhone users:

1) Apple will often replace worn out cables free of charge in store (book an appointment to save time) some people have managed to do this multiple times. Also can work with Macbook charges etc etc. If you don’t ask you don’t get 😉

2) Buy an alternative MFI Apple approved cable (with decent reviews)
£7.79 for one or £10.49 for double length one > http://amzn.to/1Ia7xUz
£6.99 for one or £12.99 for two > http://amzn.to/1NGfYW5

3) Buy a decent USB charger – we use http://amzn.to/19feQuN
but this seems well reviewed for less functionality/lower price > http://amzn.to/1Ia81Kt

4) Learn about turning your iPhone screens brightness down, darker than usually possible

Should save some battery life + ideal for using your phone in bed

5) Need to charge your phone up quicker? Turn it off and plug it in

6) Conserve battery life by reducing iPhone background refreshing by going to Settings > General > Background App refresh

7) Switch off ‘Auto-playing’ videos on Facebook app to conserve 3G/4G data allowance > http://10ws.co/1NGiz2c

Important things to remember with everything we post:

  • If you earn over your personal allowance (currently £12,570 a year) HMRC need to get their % cut (even if the money is in cash or from another country)
  • If you’re working for yourself / earning an income on the side you need to let HMRC know – There are numerous benefits but also some drawbacks
  • You need to always ensure whatever you’re doing is legal and not hurting anyone else – be careful and always think twice
  • Some income streams may require you to have DBS check, licence, insurance or qualifications before you can start to profit from it, do your research.
  • Be careful that any additional income doesn’t compromise your studies or main income/job
  • If you work for a company check your contract, if you don’t inform them you’re working on other side projects outside of work they may have grounds to ownership on this work
