Which Juicer / Blender should I buy?

Which Juicer / Blender should I buy?

Blenders (for smoothies/drinks etc)

Breville Blend-Active (a 10ways favourite)

blendactive

Extremely popular, very easy to clean, often copied by other brands but reviews alone prove this one is better than unbranded/cheaper versions
Amazon > http://amzn.to/1L5Pq1b (family) or http://amzn.to/1h3b4tm (twin pack)
eBay > http://10ws.co/1h3cwvJ
↪ very similar is the Russell Hobbs version or Duronic BL3 – if you can grab either of those £3-£5 cheaper than the Breville buy those instead

Nutribullet (expensive but seemingly worth the cost) £80-£110nutribullet

An owners favourite however compared with others in the market it’s expensive but the vast majority of people seem to agree it’s worth the spend.
Plenty of attachments and extremely good at creating smoothies and pulverising seeds/nuts

Hinari MB280 The Genie Multi-Attachment Blender (£20-£35)genie

Tons of attachments, low price but not the best quality so if using often look at spending a bit more on just a decent basic set (like the Breville)

Amazon > http://amzn.to/1L5OyK9
eBay > http://10ws.co/1h39yYa
↪ very similar to the Cooks ‘professional’ blender (lids on both of them are just ok)

Juicers (for juices obvs)

Quick mini guide:

Masticating Juicer = best for soft leafy greens, they’re very slow but also great for apples/carrots, generally very quiet
Centrifugal Juicer = best for all except leafy greens, very fast

Buying a juicer can be an expensive process, both buying the machine + buying all the fruit/veg but if used correctly and ideally if you utilise the pulp it’s money well spent, especially if you struggle to get the best vitamins into your body.

Andrew James Professional £34-£55 Juicer 850watt (best budget centrifugal juicer)

A budget copy of the also very popular (but more expensive & more powerful) 1200watt Sage Nutri Juicer but due to more budget components you have to use for 1 minute intervals (with 30s cooling)
However even with the cooling period it’s a decent buy for anyone unsure about juicing or just getting started, the 2 year warranty is a nice backup.

↪ a close rival is the VonChef 990w Juicer – if the price on this is much lower then go for that. On both of these ignore the RRP they’re always around £25-£45+ delivery of around £6-£10.

Sage by Heston Blumenthal the Nutri Juicer £130-£150 1200watt (best mid range centrifugal)heston

Ideal for hard/medium veg/fruits. More powerful than rivals which equals a faster juice + more juice from harder veg.
Super easy to clean + dishwasher safe etc. Amazing amounts of juice that come from sweet potatoes etc.
↪ for more money and the one we use (we juice multiple times per week in bulk) go for http://amzn.to/1h3nLUW

Matstone 6 in 1 Juicer in Ivory (Masticating best buy) £179-£190Matstone

Slow but extremely quiet with 6 attachments equalling other options (like frozen fruit sorbets & making pasta etc).
12 year motor and 5 year parts warranty really shows that it’s going to be money well spent

Important things to remember with everything we post:

  • If you earn over your personal allowance (currently £12,500 a year) HMRC need to get their % cut (even if the money is in cash or from another country)
  • If you’re working for yourself / earning an income on the side you need to let HMRC know – There are numerous benefits but also some drawbacks
  • You need to always ensure whatever you’re doing is legal and not hurting anyone else – be careful and always think twice
  • Some income streams may require you to have DBS check, licence, insurance or qualifications before you can start to profit from it, do your research.
  • Be careful that any additional income doesn’t compromise your studies or main income/job
  • If you work for a company check your contract, if you don’t inform them you’re working on other side projects outside of work they may have grounds to ownership on this work
