Not got a FREE sim yet? Order the £10 one (it’s free to order) on http://10ws.co/19wtxWU insert sim into phone and activate the app.

► How do I activate the sim for free?

Update July 2018: You now have to activate the sim with £10 or more but that should be valid for several months

Well, this seems to be hit and miss but basically, you put the new sim card in your phone, connect via wi-fi and download the app. Then type in your ‘new’ number on the app and it sends a text to your new sim card (no need to be activated).

Then you type in the code from the text into the app & hey presto the app is confirmed. Now at this point some people simply reinsert the normal simcard into the phone & it will continue to work.
Failing that it’s £10 to activate and to be honest that’s great considering all the free stuff we’ve had!

► My phone is locked to another network what do I do?
If your phone is locked to another network then insert sim into another phone (that isn’t locked) and then download the app on your locked phone.

Type in the new phone number into the app and then the other phone will get a text with a code. Type that code into the app. Boom done.

► To be honest it’s worth paying for the sim card:
Since it started we’ve had 3 free pizzas, 4 free beers, free de-icer/scraper, 2 free pies, loads of bike lube, car cleaning stuff, iPhone cases, free crisps, 3 sets of free chocolate, 2 sets of free cookies, free dictionary, free mince pie, free breakfast, free sandwich, free elf dvd, free cinema ticket, free hot drink, free haribo, free bacon roll, £5 off fragrances (no minimum spend), free headphones, cheap bus travel, free gym, free popcorn, nachos or hotdog, free t-shirt, free lunch, free shoes, another free baguette + loads more discount codes etc.

Important things to remember with everything we post:

  • If you earn over your personal allowance (currently £12,570 a year) HMRC need to get their % cut (even if the money is in cash or from another country)
  • If you’re working for yourself / earning an income on the side you need to let HMRC know – There are numerous benefits but also some drawbacks
  • You need to always ensure whatever you’re doing is legal and not hurting anyone else – be careful and always think twice
  • Some income streams may require you to have DBS check, licence, insurance or qualifications before you can start to profit from it, do your research.
  • Be careful that any additional income doesn’t compromise your studies or main income/job
  • If you work for a company check your contract, if you don’t inform them you’re working on other side projects outside of work they may have grounds to ownership on this work
