Since this video French law has changed and they now forbid supermarkets from wasting food, meaning any left over food MUST go to charity.

Thanks (in part) to this video and consumer pressure Asda, Morrisons & Waitrose now sell ‘wonky’ veg in the hope of giving tons of wasted fruit/veg a chance on the shop floor.
