Low cost stocks and share investing – Capital at risk!!!

Low cost stocks and share investing – Capital at risk!!!

We do not provide investment advice and individual investors should make their own decisions or seek independent advice before proceeding! The value of investments can go up as well as down and you may receive back less than your original investment!

The key to investing is to diversify your risk which is quite difficult if you’re being charged £5-£10 per trade from traditional investment websites/app and if you only have a fairly small amount of money to invest in the first place. These apps will help you get more for your money whilst ensuring you’re equally protected just like the big boy investment websites/apps. There are a few things you need to know about them but overall you should save quite a chunk compared with other providers.

FreeTrade

The clue is in the name, it allows you to freely buy and sell stocks and shares without any commission or fees! There are a few limits but it’s a worth contenter for our top app recommendation of the year. Of course, your money is at risk with all investments so only ever invest money you’re willing to lose.

Important things to remember with everything we post:

  • If you earn over your personal allowance (currently £12,570 a year) HMRC need to get their % cut (even if the money is in cash or from another country)
  • If you’re working for yourself / earning an income on the side you need to let HMRC know – There are numerous benefits but also some drawbacks
  • You need to always ensure whatever you’re doing is legal and not hurting anyone else – be careful and always think twice
  • Some income streams may require you to have DBS check, licence, insurance or qualifications before you can start to profit from it, do your research.
  • Be careful that any additional income doesn’t compromise your studies or main income/job
  • If you work for a company check your contract, if you don’t inform them you’re working on other side projects outside of work they may have grounds to ownership on this work
