Shock Bracelet that Electrocutes you when you spend too much money or eat sugary food

*Straps to mates leg whilst passed out and drunk*

This small black wrist strap which sells for £200 on Amazon looks like any other activity tracker but this one uses a small electric zap (similar to a static shock), it ‘promises’ to remove your bad habits from your daily routine in a matter of hours or days!

With 150 zaps per charge (via MicroUSB) this thing if the marketing blurb is to be believed should last a good couple of days, depending on how ‘naughty’ you’ve been.

Of course, many online have been quick to state you could get a similar effect by simply wearing a rubber band around your wrist and pinging that when you do something wrong. pavlok

Pavlok allows you to speak your reptile brain’s language by adding an unpleasant element (a safe and harmless ‘zap’ of electricity on your wrist) to what you have been taught to love (your nasty lingering habit)…
… Quickly conditioning your mind to associate an “unpleasant” feeling with your bad habit… and stopping it all together.

Good idea or stupid?

Important things to remember with everything we post:

  • If you earn over your personal allowance (currently £12,570 a year) HMRC need to get their % cut (even if the money is in cash or from another country)
  • If you’re working for yourself / earning an income on the side you need to let HMRC know – There are numerous benefits but also some drawbacks
  • You need to always ensure whatever you’re doing is legal and not hurting anyone else – be careful and always think twice
  • Some income streams may require you to have DBS check, licence, insurance or qualifications before you can start to profit from it, do your research.
  • Be careful that any additional income doesn’t compromise your studies or main income/job
  • If you work for a company check your contract, if you don’t inform them you’re working on other side projects outside of work they may have grounds to ownership on this work
