Social media is big business.
So big in fact that a single Instagram photo could net Celebrities as much as £85,000 in seconds with others earning even more.
Top models like Kendall and Gigi Hadid and their dear pal Cara Delevingne usually bring in anywhere between $125,000 [£85,000] to $300,000 [£205,000] for a single post on any of their social media sites, D’Marie Archive founder Frank Spadafora told CR Fashion Book.
“If you want to reach a model’s audience, you’re going to have to pay a hefty additional fee for that.”
“As far as commercializing a career, a girl won’t get very far in 2016 if she’s not socially savvy. Can I say that you can be a big star without a social media presence? I’m not encouraging it.” – Frank Spadafora
According to the report, next tier models like Miranda Kerr, Karlie Kloss and Behati Prinsloo can also earn anywhere between $25,000 [£17,000] to $50,000 [£34,000] for a single post across Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.
Micki Schneider, a senior booker at famed model agency Wilhelmina Models, agrees that social media plays a big part. The company encourages their models to be as active as possible.
“The most valuable reason for a model to be on social media is definitely a combination of monetizing her image and using the platform to develop and build a digital brand for themselves,”
“The more followers a model has, the more they can be appealing to certain clients. And we encourage the girls and are very mindful, as they create their own brands and become more mainstream, to be as authentic as possible.”
