Never tell a wedding venue that you’re planning it for a wedding, better still don’t go with your partner to be. Explain it’s for an event/function/reunion for X people, you will want food or not and most likely a dancefloor at the end.
As soon as you mention wedding the price will get jacked up! You’re not lying, just not telling the full facts up front.
Once that agreement is signed (ensure you read it) then you can say it’s for a wedding.
We’ve personally seen a couple that did this and they saved about £800 on the venue, we’ve heard of others saving £3,000 on the price!
