We’ve talked about alias emails tons in the past and also about compers (people who enter tons of competitions)
Anyway, these above techniques are great but competition managers have become smarter over the past 2 years and most of them request access to your social media to confirm your entries or request that you like / share / retweet etc something to all of your friends / followers etc to gain entry to the competition. This can cause frustration from those people who constantly see you entering 50+ competitions per day (a good target if you’re a new comper) & also this can cause issues with dodgy companies that automatically post content on your behalf or without your knowledge!
For this reason, many compers set up secondary social media accounts to enter competitions.
Things to watch out for:
- If you win a big prize they often will ask for ID, if your social account is under a fake name you risk losing the prize.
- Having multiple accounts pretty much breaks every social media sites T&Cs so check first and tread carefully!
- Searching for ‘RT to win’, #win, #giveaway, #content etc is a great way to find competitions but also fellow compers that you can follow & find what other competitions are out there, eventually some of them will follow you and you can help them find competitions as well
- Some sites WILL sell your details on (name, email, address, phone number etc etc), if you’re unsure then don’t enter the info but better still simply setup multiple alias emails
