Well worth a read even if we do say so ourselves, we hope it helps, but we also hope Governments and Energy Providers pull their fingers out and actually do something to solve this ****!

Dear energy companies, the media, the Government and even other money advice companies/people, the Energy Cap or the Energy Price Guarantee is not some magic 'Maximum' or 'Upper Limit' that we as consumers pay yearly! Please teach everyone what a kWh of gas/electricity actually is and how using more will cost you more regardless of any caps (think the opposite of a phone bill with minutes and texts being unlimited or the opposite of a rental property with 'Bills included').

The word 'CAP' is confusing; this CAP (currently £2,500, raising to £3000 in April 2023) isn't an 'UPPER LIMIT'; it means a TYPICAL fictitious household on a dual fuel direct debit will pay around that figure, however, most UK household won't, especially if that household understandably are confused by the term and are led to believe if your bills are looking likely to be over the cap it doesn't matter as the energy providers cannot charge you more.

To put it simply the more energy you use, the more you will pay regardless of any cap; all the cap does is limit energy providers from charging you an even more ridiculous pence/kWh.
